It was a long, long winter for me and as you may guess, I am not built for winter. I come from San Diego where the sun shines almost every day. So I’m back. I’ve finally come out of hiding from under my heavy blankets in my cozy Japanese apartment and I’m back to exploring the area. I’ve also bought a new computer which would be my first computer purchased with my own funds. Look at me now, adulting and shit.
Now that I’ve been in Japan for 8 months, I have grown to understand more about the culture and while sometimes I am blind to the sights around me (because I live here) I do like to take the time to open my eyes again as if seeing things for the first time.
In 4 months I will continue my journey on, away from Japan and into new territory where I will soon discover more about the world, but in the meantime, I still have much of Japan to enjoy. Hopefully, in these 4 months, I can keep up with The Willing Road. I have recently started freelancing and currently submit articles about off-the-beaten track sights at a website called Voyapon.com, so much of my writing time has been devoted to that lately. Not to worry, though, with winter out of the way I will be spending less time drinking indoors to hide from the snow and more time outside hiking and blooming in the sunshine like the friggin’ sunflower that I am.
For now, here are a few photos that I have taken throughout the past few months. Now that I have my sweet new set up, I am playing around a lot more with photo editing and going through my hard drive to see what photos have piled up. There’s a lot. So I hope you enjoy just a few of my favorites.
